I built Car Wash Index because I was tired of perfect sunny photos turning into water spots and dust thirty minutes later. The real enemies aren’t just rain—it’s wind, humidity, and cold.

So this little tool does one job well: tells you when to WASH, when it’s BORDERLINE, and when to WAIT—with a Confidence number so you know how sure the call is.

What the calls mean

• WASH — Green light. You’ll get a clean 2–3h window that helps the wash stick.

• BORDERLINE — You can wash, but expect trade-offs (gusts, humidity, chill). We’ll note what’s off.

• WAIT — Save the time, money and sanity. We’ll point to a better upcoming window.

Confidence (%) = how steady the conditions look based on wind, humidity, temperature, and rain risk. Higher confidence → more predictable, longer-lasting results.

Why timing beats soap

• Wind carries dust → instant swirls and grit.

• Humidity slows drying → water spots and streaks.

• Cold fights suds → miserable hands, stubborn rinse.

Hit a clean window (2–3 calm hours) and you’ll get: fewer spots, nicer drying, and a wash that looks fresh for days—not hours.
